Permanent and strong Weldbond Universal All-Purpose Adhesive creates a flexible bond to almost any material. Free of fumes, this universal adhesive is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. This versatile adhesive dries crystal clear for invisible adhesion.

SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS...BECAUSE NO ONE LIKES COMPLICATED ONES.

Consider this your quick cheat sheet of instructions and various uses. If you’re one of those types who loves a ton of detail, just send us an email about your specific project, and we’ll be glad to bog you down with specifics.

Wood

Bonds almost any type of wood to itself and to many other materials.

Apply full-strength. Lightly coat both surfaces. If wood is not warped, light clamping is best. For end-grain gluing, send us an email and we will send the nitty gritty details. (Or, NGDs, as we call them.)

Sets in 20 minutes.

Achieves strong bond in 1 hour. Cures in 24 hours. Bonded joint will accept a stain while glue is still wet.

Bonded joint is paintable and stronger than the actual wood! Not intended for construction of laminated structural beams, melamine, or oily woods.

Tiles

Weldbond® is great for all kinds of tiles, like ceramic, marble, porcelain, granite, composite materials like Corian ®, clay, cork, quartz, glass, slate, stone or human hair. (Just seeing if you’re still paying attention.)

First, seal all porous surfaces, using the sealing mixture of 5 parts water to 1 part Weldbond® and place in position. You have about 10 minutes of positioning time at this point. Use tape to hold in place for 1 hour. Allow to dry 24 hours before grouting.

For uneven surfaces, again just drop us an email and ask for the “General Adhesive Mix” and again, we’ll give you those nitty gritty details, pronto.

Glass, Stained Glass, Clear Glass, Glass Tile...

(In case you’re not catching on, it glues “Anything Glass”.)

Dries clear. Adheres glass to glass or glass to many other surfaces.

Step 1: Seal all pieces of glass with the mixture (5 parts water to 1 part Weldbond®). For larger pieces, seal only one side that you wish to adhere. Let dry approximately 1 hour.

Step 2: Apply Weldbond® full strength. Allow to become tacky before bringing together, approximately 1 minute. Use sparingly. Lightly clamp or tape material in position until fully cured. (Minimum 24 hours or more depending on room temperature or humidity. Eg. Drying time in the desert is quicker than say, in the jungle.)

Whiteness indicates that curing is not complete. Crystal-clear dry may take up to 30 days.

Sealing, Priming, Dust Proofing

Weldbond® is both a sealer and a priming coat for porous surfaces (ie. Concrete, masonry, brick and mortar, drywall, and more.)Great for sealing in concrete dust in basements and garages.Checks efflorescence on brick floors and block. Paintable.

Test first to ensure surface is porous. Mix 1 part Weldbond® with 5 parts water and brush, spray or roll over surface. Creates a matte finish.

Coverage: 3 litres of Weldbond, once diluted, covers 165 square meters (1783 square feet), based on drywall application tests.

Note: Do not repeat. For sealing concrete floors, leave an unsealed 1 inch breathing area around perimeter. For efflorescence, clean brick, and block first with a wire brush.

Concrete Bonding, Hardening and Sealing

Add to concrete and increase sheer strength and compression strength.

For strengthening and hardening.

Concrete blended with Weldbond® withstands heavy wear and vibration. Mix 1 part Weldbond® with 10 parts water, and use as the water portion of your premixed concrete. Follow the concrete manufacturers instructions. You can also use Weldbond® in coloured cement or decorative concrete...if you like that sort of thing.

Or, use as a Bonding Agent. Bond new concrete to old. Repair cracked or flaking surfaces. Trowel out to a featheredge. ASTM C1059 certified.

Step 1: If required, seal the surface. (using 5 parts water and 1 part Weldbond®). Allow 1 hour to dry.

Step 2: Apply a coat of 3 parts Weldbond® and 1 part water. While this is still tacky, pour wet cement mixture on top.

Caveats, Restrictions, Logical Thinking...

Yes, Weldbond® is a Universal Space-Age Adhesive, but even a Universal Space Age Adhesive has some limitations. For example, Weldbond® should NOT be allowed to freeze prior to use. In fact, protect the container from frost at all times. That means storing it above 50oF/10oC. Makes sense, right? It’s water resistant, NOT waterproof, so use above grade, only. In other words, Weldbond® is not intended for use in standing water so don’t be putting any fish tanks together with it!

Test all methods of using Weldbond®, first, to ensure you get the bond strength required for your project before starting. All surfaces must be clean, free of dust, oil, grease and structurally sound. Maximum performance is achieved when Weldbond® and materials are both at room temperature 70oF (21oC).

To reiterate... (On the off-chance you missed a theme, here.)

Bonds most anything. (But not absolutely anything, like broken relationships, if you recall.)

Dries Crystal Clear. (Imagine a crystal that’s really clear.)

Strong but Flexible. (Think: Weightlifter meets circus contortionist.)
